Andrew Rintoul is an Assistant Secretary at the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. Andrew leads the Protheses List Reform Taskforce which is implementing a series of reforms for medical devices used in Australia’s Private Health System.

Andrew is a Health Economist and has working in the health industry in government and intergovernmental roles for over 20 years, primarily working on access to Health Products and their affordability.

Andrew has had a variety of roles, within the Department of Health including pricing of pharmaceuticals, health technology assessment, and the initial procurement of COVID-19 vaccines for Australia. Andrew worked for the World Health Organization in Geneva as a Scientist from 2017 – 2020 where his focus was on pricing of pharmaceuticals.
