Haruka Nakada, JD, PhD, is an associate professor at the School of Health Innovation, Kanagawa University of Human Services. Her research interests include research ethics, ELSI (Ethical, legal, and social issues/implications), and PPI (Patient and public involvement) in medical or healthcare research. She and her colleagues published an article “General public’s understanding of rare diseases and their opinions on medical resource allocation in Japan: a cross-sectional study” in 2023, which discussed how the Japanese public thinks about medical resources among rare diseases and common diseases.
