Dr. Steven G. Morgan is an economist and professor of health care policy at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on policies to promote universal access to appropriately-prescribed, affordably-priced, and equitably-financed medicines in Canada and around the world. His work has sparked national interest in universal pharmacare in Canada and international debate concerning efforts to balance the sometimes-competing goals of promoting access to medicines and generating incentives for valued health innovations. Dr. Morgan has published over 200 research papers, held more than $4 million in peer-reviewed research grants, and won numerous awards for scholarship and policy impact. He regularly provides policy advice to governments and has served on high-level advisory committees of intergovernmental agencies.
